Halle's University City Forum Tackles Climate and Digital Challenges Next Week
The University City Transformation Forum will gather experts in Halle (Saale) next week. Organised by the Donors' Association for the Promotion of Sciences and Humanities, the event focuses on collaboration between universities and cities. Discussions will cover pressing issues like climate change and digital transformation. The forum begins on Monday, May 4, with a welcome reception at the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. Lord Mayor Dr. Alexander Vogt will speak on behalf of the city during the opening.
The main sessions start the following day, Tuesday, May 5. Attendees will meet at the Handel Hall and the Salt Museum for talks and workshops. The Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and local officials will present new models for working together through the University City Transformation Hub network.
Experts will examine how science, urban planning, and public administration can address shared challenges. Topics include sustainable development, technological advancements, and improving city life through research partnerships. The event brings together academics, policymakers, and urban planners to exchange ideas. Practical solutions for climate action and digital progress are expected to emerge from the discussions. The forum runs from May 4 to May 5 in Halle (Saale).
