HDI Global partners with mea Platform to revolutionize insurance with AI

HDI Global and mea Platform have formed a strategic partnership to bring AI into underwriting and claims processing. The move aims to speed up decision-making and improve data quality across HDI’s global operations. Both companies see this as a key step in handling large volumes of insurance data more efficiently. HDI Global handles vast amounts of structured and unstructured data every day. The insurer serves industrial, corporate, and specialty clients worldwide, requiring fast and accurate processing. To streamline this, mea’s AI tools—already pre-trained on insurance-specific language—will be integrated into HDI’s workflows.

The partnership will standardise how HDI collects and categorises incoming data, from broker submissions to claims documents. A unified input management system will allow the insurer to scale operations globally while adapting to local markets. This approach aligns with HDI’s existing carrier platforms and operating models.

mea’s solutions are designed to reduce repetitive, data-heavy tasks for HDI’s teams. By automating these processes, employees can shift their focus to higher-value work, such as client and broker interactions. The company’s AI is already in use across international markets, supporting over $400 billion in gross written premiums.

Jens Hillmer, Global Head of Business Operations and Transformation at HDI, highlighted that AI adoption fits into the insurer’s broader digitalisation strategy. The goal is to enhance client service while supporting staff. Max Richter, EMEA CEO of mea, praised HDI as one of the most respected specialty insurers, noting its scale and complexity as a driving factor in the collaboration. The partnership will roll out mea’s AI across HDI’s underwriting and claims divisions. Faster processing and improved data accuracy are expected to benefit both employees and clients. HDI plans to continue expanding its digital capabilities as part of its long-term innovation strategy.
