President Tokayev Signs Laws on Ratification of Agreements with Peru
Kazakhstan and Peru strengthen legal ties with three landmark agreements
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed laws on the ratification of agreements between Kazakhstan and Peru, reported by our site with reference to Akorda.
Thus, the Head of State signed the laws "On Ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Peru on Mutual Legal Assistance on Criminal Matters", "On Ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Peru on the Transfer of Convicted Persons" and "On Ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Peru on Extradition".
Recall that earlier, senators ratified three agreements with Peru. They concern the extradition of criminals, assistance in the investigation of criminal cases, the transfer of convicts and suspects.
The document regulates how the law enforcement agencies of the two countries will interact. The parties can help each other - for example, to transfer detainees, search for and arrest assets, obtain financial information and conduct confiscation.
Under the agreement, Kazakhstan and Peru will also assist each other in the investigation of criminal cases. We are talking about practical assistance: the transfer of documents and statements, the search for people and property, the conduct of searches and seizures of things, as well as the provision of evidence and necessary information.
