Interagency Meeting on Military Conscription and Mobilization Potential Held in Kazakhstan's Defense Ministry

An interagency meeting chaired by Defense Minister Lieutenant General Dauren Kosanov focused on improving Kazakhstan's military conscription system and strengthening the nation's mobilization capacity, Liter.kz reports.

The session brought together leaders and representatives from key government agencies, including the ministries of justice, national economy, healthcare, transport, digital development, labor, and social protection, as well as other state bodies.

Participants emphasized that fulfilling citizens' constitutional duty to defend the homeland remains a top priority of state policy, under the constant oversight of the supreme commander-in-chief and the government.

To enhance efficiency, transparency, and discipline in the conscription process, the Defense Ministry is developing a Unified Draft Notice Registry. The system aims to modernize how citizens are notified of their military obligations.

"Establishing the Unified Draft Notice Registry will take our notification system to a qualitatively new level," said Defense Minister Lieutenant General Dauren Kosanov. "We are building a cutting-edge, tech-driven mechanism to ensure timely citizen notifications and the unconditional fulfillment of their constitutional duty."

The initiative also includes proposals for temporary restrictive measures against individuals who systematically evade conscription. These measures would be time-bound and applied strictly within existing legal frameworks.

The meeting placed special emphasis on interagency cooperation and digital transformation. Officials stressed the need to integrate government information systems for seamless data exchange and effective implementation of proposed solutions.

"Consolidating state efforts and adopting modern digital tools are critical to improving the entire system's performance," Kosanov noted. "We must ensure it is transparent, reliable, and resilient."

A separate discussion addressed ways to make mandatory military service more appealing. The Defense Ministry proposed increasing monthly pay for conscripts and enhancing social benefits.

In his closing remarks, Kosanov underscored that implementing these initiatives would require coordinated action across all government bodies.
