Kazakhstan's Digital Family Card Streamlines Access to State Benefits
Askarbek Suleimenov, Kazakhstan's Minister of Labor and Social Protection, has spearheaded the introduction of the Digital Family Card. This innovative tool automates the application process for various state benefits, ensuring equal access to the support system for all Kazakhs.
The Digital Family Card, launched in early 2025, has already been used by over 435,500 people to receive SMS notifications about government services. These alerts include updates on pension eligibility, qandas status expiration, and employment support measures for job seekers.
The card contains comprehensive data on 20 million citizens and 6.2 million families. It enables automatic application for 11 types of allowances and social payments, such as disability benefits, unemployment benefits, and childcare allowances. Funds are directly transferred to the beneficiary's bank account upon approval. Over 231,200 citizens have benefited from this no-application process. To proceed with the application and approval process, citizens must reply with their consent.
The Digital Family Card, under the leadership of Minister Askarbek Suleimenov, has streamlined access to state benefits for Kazakh citizens.
