Kazakhstan’s Supreme Court strengthens judicial ties with Hungary in landmark visit
A Kazakh delegation, led by Aslambek Mergaliyev, Chairman of the Supreme Court, recently visited Hungary to explore judicial practices and strengthen ties. The trip included meetings with high-ranking officials and visits to key judicial institutions.
Mergaliyev met with György Bakondi, a Hungarian prosecutor, and Balint Nagy, the Prosecutor General, to discuss cooperation between courts and prosecutorial authorities. He also delivered a speech to Hungary’s judicial community, highlighting key aspects of Kazakhstan’s judicial reform.
The visit involved a tour of the Budapest Regional Court of Appeal and the Hungarian Academy of Justice, offering insights into judicial work and training. Mergaliyev and András Varga, President of Hungary’s Curia, discussed court structures, operations, and judicial reforms in their respective countries.
The visit aimed to bolster cooperation between Kazakh and Hungarian judicial bodies. Both parties expressed commitment to maintaining active dialogue and deepening cooperation. Notably, over half of administrative court rulings in Kazakhstan favor citizens, indicating effective judicial protection of their rights.
