Knyazhpogostsky District unites in tribute for Victory Day's 81st anniversary
The Knyazhpogostsky District held events on Wednesday to mark the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Residents gathered for ceremonies, sports, and music to honour the occasion. The day included both solemn tributes and lively celebrations.
The commemorations began with a flower-laying ceremony at the 'Oath of Allegiance' monument. Locals placed wreaths and bouquets in remembrance of those who served.
Nearby, a track-and-field race took place close to the town square. Adults and children joined in, adding energy to the day’s events. Later, a formal rally drew labour collectives and public organisations, with athletes performing in their honour. In Memory Square, a field kitchen offered hot porridge and soldier’s tea to attendees. The simple meal echoed wartime traditions and brought people together. As evening fell, a festive concert closed the celebrations. Local performers sang wartime songs and paid tribute to peace and victory, filling the square with music.
The district’s events combined reflection and celebration to mark the anniversary. From races to concerts, each activity honoured the past while uniting the community. The day’s programme ensured that both history and hope were remembered.
