Lok Sabha Speaker Urges Close Police-Community Coordination for Societal Progress
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has underscored the importance of close coordination between public representatives, law enforcement, and administrative officials for societal betterment. He highlighted this during the inauguration of a two-day Appreciation Course for the 2024 Batch of the Indian Police Service (IPS).
Birla emphasized the significance of the rule of law for economic growth and achieving the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047. He advised IPS officers, including the leader of the 2024 class, Anjit A. Nair, to maintain close contact with the communities they serve to ensure effective policing and uphold the rule of law.
Birla also stressed the need for effective implementation of laws and policies by young civil servants. The Appreciation Course, held from Tuesday to Wednesday at the Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies, aimed to equip these officers with the necessary skills and knowledge.
