Nizhny Novgorod honors local leaders on Self-Government Day

Yury Shalabaev, the head of Nizhny Novgorod, thanked everyone contributing to the development of local governance in a post on his MAH messenger channel.

"Today, Russia marks Local Self-Government Day. I congratulate everyone involved," Shalabaev wrote.

He noted that the holiday unites those who help address everyday issues affecting people's lives and the development of their communities. Both professionals and residents themselves play a crucial role, he said—whether through initiatives, proposals, or participation in discussions and projects.

"This kind of dialogue helps us better understand public needs and find the best solutions. I thank everyone who contributes to local governance and cares about how Nizhny Novgorod is changing," Shalabaev stated.
