Nizhny Novgorod offers free legal consultations on June 16
Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod Region can soon access free legal advice at a public reception hosted by the local Ministry of Justice. The event, scheduled for June 16, will offer guidance on a variety of legal matters, from document retrieval to employment in civil service. Registration is already open for those seeking assistance. The public reception will run from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 115 1st Oranzhereinaya Street in Nizhny Novgorod. Attendees can receive help with issues like retrieving personal documents from abroad, obtaining apostille certification for Russian papers, and understanding the roles of lawyers, notaries, and civil registry offices (ZAGS). Consultations will also cover state registration of nonprofit organisations, civil service employment, and the operations of the Federal Penitentiary Service (GUFSIN) and Federal Bailiff Service (GUFSPS).
Free legal aid is available to specific groups, including disabled individuals in Groups I and II, disabled children, orphans, and their legal representatives. Eligibility is outlined in Federal Law No. 324-FZ and Nizhny Novgorod Regional Law No. 144-Z. Organisers recommend checking required documents beforehand and preparing questions to make the most of the session. Those wishing to attend must register in advance by calling +7 (831) 224-86-18 (extensions 214, 314, or 318) between May 11 and 29, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The reception aims to provide clear legal support to eligible residents. By offering expert advice on documentation, certification, and public service roles, the event helps simplify complex processes. Registration remains open until May 29 for those needing assistance.
