Orenburg man arrested in Nizhny Novgorod for methadone trafficking during anti-drug crackdown
Officers found 20 packets of methadone in the man's possession.
A resident of Orenburg was detained by police on Golubev Street, according to the Main Directorate of the Russian Interior Ministry for Nizhny Novgorod Region. During the arrest, officers discovered 20 packets containing a total of 1.339 grams of methadone on the 46-year-old man, who had a prior criminal record.
The suspect, accused of illegal drug trafficking, has been remanded in custody, and criminal charges have been filed.
This comes as Nizhny Novgorod Region holds its "Report Where Death Is Sold" campaign from April 20 to May 1. Residents are encouraged to assist police in combating drug trafficking by anonymously reporting offenses involving banned substances.
