Pablo Sánchez Flores scores goals and fights flight anxiety with his own app
Rayo Vallecano B's Pablo Sánchez Flores Balances Football and Entrepreneurship
The Rayo Vallecano B forward combines his football career with business, making an impact both on and off the pitch. Arriving at Vallecas this season, he has hit the ground running under manager Toni Paredes, setting an example in every aspect of his life. In an interview with El Desmarque, he discussed the launch of Copi, an app designed for people who experience flight anxiety—something the player himself has struggled with.
Pablo Sánchez Flores: Footballer and Entrepreneur
In a conversation with El Desmarque, the Rayo youth-team player reflected on his daily routine, splitting time between the training ground and his startup. Mornings begin at the club's training facility, followed by meetings with his business team to advance the project. "You don't just decide to become an entrepreneur—you start working on an idea," he explains. Adaptable by nature, he describes himself as a different person in each world.
His app, Copi, aims to support those who feel anxious when flying—a challenge he knows firsthand. The idea was born from a personal experience: "We hit turbulence, and I was gripping my seat," he recalls. The pilot's reassuring announcements helped calm his nerves. Before every flight, Sánchez Flores would visit the cockpit to ask about potential turbulence, a ritual that eased his anxiety. He argues that current solutions are either outdated or prohibitively expensive.
On the pitch, the striker has logged 545 minutes across 12 appearances this season, showcasing his talent week after week. So far, he has scored once—netting the second goal in a win over Las Palmas B.
