Three Arrested in Rheinstetten After String of Car Break-Ins

Joint press release from the Karlsruhe Public Prosecutor's Office and Karlsruhe Police Headquarters:

As previously reported, unknown perpetrators have been breaking into multiple vehicles in Rheinstetten-Mörsch since March 15, 2026, apparently to steal valuables. Following investigations by criminal police and a tip from a witness, officers arrested three young men on March 26, 2026. The suspects are currently in pretrial detention.

The witness recognized the alleged offenders at the Rösselsbrünnle bus stop in Rheinstetten and alerted the police. Officers then provisionally detained the suspects at around 3:30 p.m. aboard a tram. Subsequent searches yielded various pieces of evidence, including what is believed to be stolen property taken from the vehicles.

The suspects—aged 20, 19, and 14—were brought before a magistrate at Karlsruhe District Court on Friday. At the request of the Karlsruhe Public Prosecutor's Office, the judge issued arrest warrants and ordered their continued pretrial detention.
