Police patrol car vandalized during mayoral debate in Ueckermünde

A police patrol car was damaged in Ueckermünde on March 22, 2026, while officers provided security at a mayoral debate. The incident occurred near the town cinema, leaving the vehicle with a broken window but no injuries reported. Authorities are now searching for the person responsible. The attack took place at around 4:40 p.m. on An der Volksbühne street. An unknown assailant threw a stone at the parked patrol car, smashing the rear left window. The two officers inside the vehicle were unharmed.

The suspect fled the scene immediately and could not be found despite a search of the area. Police recovered the stone used in the attack and estimated the damage to the car at roughly €500.

Investigators have appealed to the public for help. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Ueckermünde police station.
