Dötlingen: Police Monitor AfD State Conference and Counter-Demonstrations
Police secure AfD conference in Dötlingen amid public gatherings
Police in Dötlingen's Brettorf district are overseeing public assemblies today in connection with the state conference of Lower Saxony's Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, according to a statement from the Delmenhorst/Oldenburg-Land/Wesermarsch police precinct.
In addition to the AfD event, two other gatherings have been registered: a morning vigil and a march scheduled for later in the day.
Officers have been deployed in visible numbers since early morning, with a response tailored to the situation. Their mission is to uphold the right to assembly for all participants, maintain public safety and order, and ensure the day proceeds as smoothly and securely as possible.
Current assessments indicate the situation remains calm.
Police are in close coordination with local authorities and assembly organizers, continuously reassessing the circumstances. In Dötlingen—particularly in Brettorf—temporary traffic disruptions may occur throughout the day.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible.
