Attack in JVA Straubing - Officer Injured, Hospitalized - Prison Officer Assaulted in Straubing; Inmate Suspected
A prison officer in Lower Bavaria was assaulted by an inmate at a correctional facility in Straubing. The incident left the 29-year-old officer with minor injuries.
The assault took place when the officer approached the medicine cabinet. A 27-year-old inmate, whose name remains unknown, had initially requested medication. Instead of waiting for assistance, he attacked the officer. Other staff members quickly intervened, ending the altercation. Authorities are now investigating the case, treating it as suspected aggravated assault.
The 29-year-old officer was hospitalized with minor injuries following the incident. Police and prosecutors are currently looking into the matter, with the 27-year-old inmate being the primary suspect.
