An investigation revealed that the man, responsible for enforcing safety protocols under a municipal contract for major roof repairs at a residential building in the urban settlement of Pangody, allowed an unauthorized individual onto the roof of a four-story apartment block in August 2025. The victim, who was not wearing safety gear, fell from a height of 13 meters and later died in intensive care.
The court sentenced the defendant to three years of restricted freedom and banned him from any work related to occupational safety and construction site regulations for two years, according to the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Prosecutor's Office.
