Shooting outside Worms nightclub leaves one injured in late-night clash
A shooting incident took place outside the 'Goldbar' nightspot in Worms on Wednesday evening. The confrontation left one person injured after shots were fired during a clash. Police have launched an investigation into the events leading up to the altercation.
The incident occurred at around 10:15 p.m. in Renzstraße, where a group of individuals became involved in a violent confrontation. During the altercation, shots were fired, striking one person in the leg. The victim later sought medical treatment at a hospital without waiting for emergency services.
When officers arrived at the scene, no suspects or witnesses remained. However, shell casings were recovered and are now being examined by forensic specialists. The Main Police Headquarters' Homicide and Serious Crimes Unit (K11) has taken charge of the case, working closely with the Mainz Public Prosecutor's Office to determine the background and motives behind the shooting. Police operations in the area are still ongoing. Records show that no similar incidents involving gunfire have been reported in Worms over the past year, except for a previous shooting on 27 March 2026. That case, also outside the 'Goldbar,' involved a leg injury and remains under investigation by the same authorities.
The injured person received hospital treatment following the latest incident. Authorities continue to gather evidence as they search for those responsible. Further updates will depend on the progress of forensic analysis and witness statements.
