South Korea's Speaker Woo Strengthens Semiconductor and Trade Ties in Europe and Africa

National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik will embark on a seven-day trip to the Netherlands and Kenya this week. The visits aim to strengthen ties in trade, investment, and semiconductor technology with both nations. Woo’s first stop will be the Netherlands, a key player in chipmaking equipment through firms like ASML. There, he will meet with Dutch parliamentary leaders to explore deeper cooperation, particularly in the semiconductor sector. Korea, a global leader in chip manufacturing, sees this as an opportunity to align with Dutch expertise.

After the Netherlands, Woo will travel to Kenya. In Nairobi, he is scheduled to meet President William Ruto. The discussions will focus on expanding trade and investment between the two countries. The trip highlights Korea’s push to broaden economic and technological partnerships. Meetings in the Netherlands and Kenya will address industry collaboration and trade growth. Woo’s agenda reflects a focus on semiconductor innovation and cross-continental investment.
