State Center Community College District Chancellor Announces 2026 Retirement
Dr. Carole Goldsmith, the current chancellor of the State Center Community College District, has announced her retirement. She will continue in her role until September 2026, providing time for a smooth transition.
Dr. Goldsmith took the helm of the district in 2022, bringing with her a wealth of experience from her previous roles as president of Fresno City College and Coalinga College. During her tenure, she has overseen a significant increase in enrollment across the community colleges under her leadership.
Fresno City College, one of the district's four institutions, saw its student population grow to 20,000 under her guidance. The other colleges in the district—Clovis Community College, Reedley College, and Madera Community College—also experienced positive growth and development under her leadership.
Dr. Goldsmith's retirement, planned for September 2026, will mark the end of an era. Her impact on the State Center Community College District, particularly the boost in enrollment and student success, will be remembered. The search for her successor is expected to begin soon.
