Taxi driver stabs passenger in violent Atyrau station brawl

A violent clash between a taxi driver and a passenger at Atyrau's railway station turned dangerous on March 28. The argument escalated into a physical fight, leaving one man injured. Authorities have since taken legal action against the driver. The confrontation started with a heated verbal exchange inside an intercity taxi. Tensions quickly rose, and the dispute became physical. During the struggle, the driver pulled out a knife and stabbed the passenger.

The injured man was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, local police intervened, detaining the taxi driver at the scene. Investigators later filed criminal charges of hooliganism against him.

By the following day, the driver had been placed in pretrial custody. As of March 30, no further details about an arrest or public reaction have been made available. The passenger remains under medical care after the attack. The taxi driver now faces legal proceedings while held in custody. Police have not released additional updates on the case.
