UAE Strengthens Global Ties at AI-Driven Education Conference in China

A senior UAE delegation attended the World Digital Education Conference 2026 in Hangzhou, China, this week. Led by Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, the group joined discussions on how artificial intelligence is reshaping global education systems. The event centred on the theme ‘AI + Education: Transformation, Development, Governance’, highlighting the growing role of technology in learning. The UAE team included officials from two ministries and five top universities. Their visit aimed to boost international academic ties and accelerate research and education growth. During the conference, sessions explored global trends in digital learning, AI applications in higher education, and best practices in smart education technologies.

Dr. Al Awar and the delegation held meetings with leaders from Tsinghua University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Talks focused on potential collaborations in academic exchanges, knowledge sharing, and joint research. Key areas of interest included AI, medicine, engineering, and energy. The UAE’s participation aligns with its broader strategy to strengthen its position in global higher education. The country is working to expand partnerships, develop an advanced education ecosystem, and prepare students for a digitally driven future.
