UK honours list celebrates leaders in education, healthcare and business innovation

The latest honours list has recognised individuals from across the UK for their contributions to public life. Among those awarded are leaders in education, healthcare, business and the arts. The honours include knighthoods, OBEs and MBEs for achievements in fields ranging from cyber security to local government. In education, Mo Isap and Julia Heap have both received OBEs. Isap was honoured for his work in schools, while Heap’s award acknowledges her dedication to further education. Meanwhile, Cllr Bev Craig was named an OBE for her service to local government.

The creative sector saw Julia Fawcett receive an OBE for her impact on art and the wider industry. In healthcare, Kathy Cowell was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for her long-standing service to the NHS. Business and innovation were also highlighted. Piers Linney earned an MBE for his support of small businesses, entrepreneurs, and diversity in finance. Henri Murison was similarly recognised with an MBE for his contributions to economic growth. Dr Jonathan Hague received an OBE for advancing research, innovation, and economic development. Richard Harpin was knighted for his services to politics. In cyber security, Lorna Armitage and Dr Andrea Cullen, co-founders of Capslock, were both awarded MBEs for their work in the field.

The honours reflect a wide range of achievements across different sectors. Those recognised will receive their awards at ceremonies in the coming months. The list highlights ongoing contributions to public service, business, and the arts in the UK.
