UPPL rallies workers in Bijni ahead of critical 2026 Assembly elections

The United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) recently held a workers' meeting in Bijni, marking a significant step in its preparations for the 2026 Assembly elections. The event, attended by key party leaders, aimed to invigorate the party's grassroots organization and foster unity among members.

Promod Boro, UPPL President, and Madhab Chetry, General Secretary, led the meeting. They stressed the importance of unity, discipline, and dedication among party members. Speakers urged workers to engage with all sectors of society, spreading the UPPL's vision of peace, progress, and development in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).

The gathering also discussed organizational matters and strategies for the upcoming elections. Notable attendees included former BTR Executive Member Ranjit Basumatary, MP Jayanta Basumatary, and Constituency Member Dhananjay Basumatary. Despite the meeting's focus on the 2026 election results, the UPPL candidate for constituency number 18 in No. Manas Serfang remains unknown.

The Bijni meeting concluded with a call for collective effort and renewed commitment from all members. The UPPL aims to translate this unity into success in the forthcoming election results, with its vision for the BTR's future at the forefront.
