Vietnamese Youth Federation Elects New Leaders at Paris Congress 2026

The Vietnamese Youth and Student Federation in Europe (VYSEF) held its second congress in Paris on 9 May 2026. The event marked the start of a new five-year term, bringing together 80 delegates from across the continent in a hybrid format. Key decisions included leadership elections and plans for future growth. The congress officially closed VYSEF’s first term, which ran from 2021 to 2026. During this period, the federation organised academic and cultural programmes for Vietnamese youth and students in Europe.

New leadership was appointed for the 2026-2031 tenure. Nguyễn Phan Bảo Thụy became president, while Nguyễn Thị Diệu Linh took on the role of honorary president. The 43-member Executive Committee now includes a 15-person standing board with six vice presidents. Membership has also expanded. The federation now counts 14 national associations, representing France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Poland, Spain, Romania, Ireland, Austria, Finland, and the UK. For the next five years, VYSEF will focus on digital transformation, better coordination of activities, and stronger international cooperation. Plans include continent-wide networking events and programmes aimed at connecting young Vietnamese intellectuals in Europe.

The Paris congress set out VYSEF’s direction for 2026 to 2031. With new leadership, expanded membership, and clear strategic goals, the federation aims to strengthen its role in supporting Vietnamese youth across Europe. Future activities will emphasise professional development, digital engagement, and cross-border collaboration.
