Völkershausen’s mayoral race pits experience against youthful vision on November 23

Völkershausen residents will head to the polls on November 23, 2025, to elect a new mayor. The election follows outgoing mayor Stefan Schramm's departure on September 1. Martin Witzel (CDU) and Pauline Jakob, running as independents, are the candidates. Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Wandelhalle community center.

Jakob, 22, currently works at VR Bank NordRhön eG and serves as the volunteer chair of the Völkershausen Kirmesverein. She aims to maintain and improve municipal buildings, facilities, and public institutions if elected. Notably, she plans to renew the display cases at the village square, preserving traditions while shaping the future together with the community.

Witzel, who previously belonged to the CDU political group, has been serving as acting mayor since Schramm's departure. He is also running for the mayoral election. Jakob, on the other hand, wants to complete the Oechse Valley bike path and foster collaboration among local clubs.

Völkershausen's mayoral election on November 23 will see Martin Witzel (CDU) and Pauline Jakob, running as independents, vying for the position.
