Wolfsburg Police and Community Unite in Trust-Building Workshops
The Wolfsburg Police Department and the city's Integration Office have launched a series of workshops to strengthen ties between officers and the public. The sessions aim to create a space for open discussion, mutual learning, and better understanding on both sides.
Four workshops will take place in April, with each event running from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The first two workshops are scheduled for April 2 and April 9 at WEST (Samlandweg 17). The third session will move to the Wolfsburg-Helmstedt Police Station on April 16. The final meeting returns to WEST on April 23.
Organisers want to place police officers and participants on equal footing. Key topics include public expectations of law enforcement, handling criticism, and how officers perceive citizens. Personal biases and fears will also be addressed. The initiative seeks to reduce tensions and improve daily interactions. By encouraging respectful dialogue, the workshops hope to build trust and address concerns from both sides.
The series is designed to foster better communication between the police and the community. Each session will provide an opportunity for honest conversation and shared learning. The events remain open to all interested participants.
