Ambulance drug theft in Soest sparks internal investigation

Soest (news release) On Thursday afternoon (March 26, 2026), police were alerted to the theft of medications from multiple ambulances at the emergency response center in Soest.

During initial investigations at the scene, officers discovered that various drugs were missing not only from the vehicles but also from a storage area.

As the probe progressed, suspicion fell on an employee working in the emergency medical services. At the request of the public prosecutor's office, a judicial search warrant for the suspect's home address was issued and executed the same day.

The search yielded potential evidence linked to the reported theft.

The suspect is a man performing his federal voluntary service with the Soest district's emergency medical services.

Investigations are ongoing.
