Bangladesh Red Crescent Chairman resigns amid reform struggles and interference
Major General (Retired) Md Azizul Islam has stepped down as Chairman of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society. He cited 'syndicate and various forms of interference' as reasons for his resignation, after trying to 'revamp' the news organization but facing obstacles. Azizul Islam was appointed as the new chairman in March 2023, succeeding Md Azizul Islam. Despite his efforts to reform the news Red Crescent Society, he was unable to overcome the challenges he faced. His resignation comes after a period of attempted change within the news organization. Following Azizul Islam's resignation, Brigadier General Md Monirul Islam has been appointed as the new chairman of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society. The news organization now faces the task of continuing its reform efforts under new leadership.
