Unknown assailants threw a paving stone wrapped in newspaper through his window, following earlier threats and vandalism to his campaign posters. The incident took place just weeks before the March 8 municipal elections. Prior to the attack, the candidate had received a threatening letter. His campaign posters had also been torn down and dumped on his property.
Authorities are treating the case as criminal property damage and a serious threat. The Bavarian State Criminal Police Office’s State Protection Unit has taken over the investigation. Officials are now asking anyone with information to come forward. The victim, whose name has not been released, is running in the upcoming local elections. Police have not yet identified any suspects or motives behind the attack.
