Berlin knife attack leaves two young men hospitalized after street dispute
Two young men were stabbed in Berlin’s Moabit district on Monday evening. The attack happened after a dispute involving a group of three people. Police are treating the incident as grievous bodily harm.
The violence began when a 20-year-old man got into an argument with a group in Oldenburger Straße. One of the attackers then pulled out a knife and stabbed him.
A 21-year-old passerby tried to intervene but was also injured, suffering a wound to his right thigh. Both victims were rushed to hospital, though their injuries were not life-threatening. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the dispute and the identities of those involved. The Police Union has since called for stricter rules, including a total ban on carrying knives in public. GdP spokesperson Benjamin Jendro warned that anyone carrying a bladed weapon is ready to use it.
The two injured men remain in hospital with non-life-threatening wounds. Police continue to search for the attackers and examine the circumstances of the incident. The case has renewed calls for tighter controls on knives in public spaces.
