Braunschweig's Giving Circle 2026 raises €33,900 for local community projects

Braunschweig’s Bürgerstiftung hosted its Giving Circle 2026 event on May 7 at the historic BS Energy Waterworks. Over 100 guests gathered in person and online to support local causes through donations and live entertainment. The evening raised a total of €33,900 for three community projects.

The event kicked off with a lively programme of songs and poetry recitals. Radio 38’s Jens Richwien took on hosting duties, guiding attendees through the evening’s activities. Alongside performances, guests could bid on unique auction items, including flight simulator sessions, professional photo shoots, and handmade plush toys.

Three local initiatives received the bulk of the funds. The largest single donation—€12,500—went to *Damit kein Napf leer bleiben muss*, a project providing pet food for struggling owners. *Wunschgroßeltern*, which pairs volunteer mentors with families in need, secured €11,225. Meanwhile, *Futter Teresa on Tour*, a mobile food distribution service, was awarded €10,175. Susanne Hauswaldt, managing director of Bürgerstiftung Braunschweig, later thanked attendees for their generosity. She highlighted the community’s strong spirit of solidarity and dedication to helping others.

The Giving Circle 2026 event successfully distributed €33,900 to local causes. The funds will directly support pet owners, families, and those facing food insecurity. Organisers have already begun planning for next year’s edition.
