Bremen's Justus Grosse celebrates 80 years of rebuilding and reinventing the city

Bremen-based real estate firm Justus Grosse will mark its 80th anniversary in 2026. Founded in 1946, the company began with a clear goal: to rebuild Bremen as a livable city after the devastation of World War II. Today, it employs around 100 people and remains a key player in the city’s development. The company was established by Justus Grosse, who set out to restore and revitalise post-war Bremen. Over the decades, it has expanded its services to include property management, project development, leasing, sales, and real estate brokerage. Recent high-profile projects include the transformation of Überseestadt district, the TABAKQUARTIER redevelopment, and the revitalisation of the Alte Süßwarenfabrik.

Beyond traditional real estate, Justus Grosse has diversified into modern energy supply solutions, hospitality, and gastronomy. This broad portfolio has earned recognition from local leaders. Bremen’s Mayor Andreas Bovenschulte called the firm a *reliable and indispensable partner* for the city, while Senator Kristina Vogt praised its role in shaping Bremen’s economic growth and forward-thinking approach. Other officials have also highlighted the company’s contributions. Özlem Ünsal, Senator for Construction, Mobility, and Urban Development, noted its ability to blend regional roots with innovative urban design. Andreas Heyer, CEO of WFB Economic Development Bremen, emphasised the firm’s collaborative spirit and entrepreneurial foresight as key strengths.

As Justus Grosse approaches its 80th year, its influence on Bremen’s urban landscape remains evident. The company’s projects span residential, commercial, and energy sectors, reinforcing its position as a driving force in the city’s transformation. Local leaders continue to recognise its long-term commitment to sustainable and innovative development.
