CDU seeks unity and bold reforms at pivotal federal conference
Berlin. Just ahead of the start of the CDU federal party conference in Stuttgart on Friday, Steffen Bilger (CDU), the parliamentary manager of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group, has called for a clear show of unity. In an interview with the Rheinische Post (Friday edition), Bilger stated that the party aims to set a decisive course at the conference toward "growth, competitiveness, and bold reforms."
Bilger added: "Strong, forward-looking proposals are on the table to achieve this." The CDU politician noted that this is the party's first federal conference since returning to government five years ago. "A clear signal of unity and determination must come from this event," he emphasized. According to Bilger, this would also provide momentum for the upcoming state elections in Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate.
