Codara pivots from ads to AI-driven compliance tools for businesses

Codara, a legal tech startup, began with a simple goal: making the law more accessible. Its first product, GesetzeFinden.at, relied on ads for funding but failed to take off. Since then, the company has shifted focus to AI-powered compliance tools. After the setback with its ad-supported platform, Codara changed direction. It developed software that uses AI to track and analyse legislative changes for businesses. The system also streamlines compliance workflows, cutting down on manual work and improving transparency.

At a Legal Innovation event in Vienna, Codara demonstrated its technology with Austrian Power Grid (APG) as a client. The platform’s ability to automatically detect legal updates has drawn interest from other companies. Beyond this, the startup is now researching a specialised large language model (LLM) for legal applications.

Looking ahead, Codara plans to enter the German market by 2026. The move follows its growing reputation for simplifying complex regulatory processes. Codara’s shift from an ad-based model to AI-driven compliance has reshaped its future. The company now provides tools that help businesses stay updated on laws efficiently. With expansion into Germany on the horizon, its focus remains on legal innovation and automation.
