Island Escapes Director Champions New Isle of Man Entrepreneurs Through Awards Sponsorship

John Keggin, commercial director at Island Escapes, is backing the next wave of local entrepreneurs. He has sponsored the 'New Business of the Year' category at the upcoming Media Isle of Man Awards for Excellence. His own company, founded in 2018, has already made a mark on the island’s tourism sector.

Island Escapes began as a small venture but now employs 50 people. Under Keggin’s leadership, the business earned the 'Excellence in Customer Service' award in previous years. Earlier this year, Cornwall-based Sapphire Holidays acquired the company to expand its reach across the UK and attract more visitors to the Isle of Man.

Keggin stresses the importance of new businesses for the island’s economic growth. He encourages aspiring entrepreneurs to start with a solid plan and prioritise customer satisfaction. Growth, he believes, should follow naturally rather than being forced. His sponsorship of the 'New Business of the Year' award reflects his commitment to supporting fresh talent. The category will highlight startups that show innovation, resilience, and strong potential for success.

The acquisition by Sapphire Holidays has positioned Island Escapes for further expansion. Keggin’s sponsorship of the awards also reinforces his dedication to fostering new enterprises. The winners of the 'New Business of the Year' category will be announced at the upcoming ceremony.
