Cross-border police operation nabs notorious serial burglar in Germany
Deputy Minister-President and Interior Minister Thomas Strobl commented on the press release issued by Heilbronn Police Headquarters and the Heilbronn Public Prosecutor's Office:
"Burglars do not stop at state borders. A key factor in combating residential break-ins is therefore close and trusting cooperation—including at the international level. The recent arrest of a serial burglar who operated across Germany proves that our approach is working. Through meticulous investigative work and perseverance, detectives from Heilbronn Police Headquarters, Bavaria's police force, and law enforcement authorities in Poland have succeeded in putting an end to this criminal's activities. I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved. Our efforts to tackle burglary are clearly paying off: since 2015, we have more than halved the number of residential break-ins, reducing cases from nearly 12,000 to just under 6,000."
