Media Invitation: Inaugural Launch of Halle's First Short TINA Tram

Halle's municipal transport operator, Hallesche Verkehrsbetriebe (HAVAG), invites media representatives to a press event marking the ceremonial launch of the first short MGT-M model TINA tram on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Freiimfelder Straße depot (Freiimfelder Straße 74). During the event, officials will present the "certificate of approval"—the formal operating license issued by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Digital Affairs of Saxony-Anhalt.

Speeches will be delivered by: - Dr. Lydia Hüskens, Minister of Infrastructure and Digital Affairs for Saxony-Anhalt - Dr. Alexander Vogt, Lord Mayor of Halle - Egbert Geier, Deputy Mayor and Chairman of HAVAG's Supervisory Board - Matthias Lux, Managing Director of Stadtwerke Halle - Vinzenz Schwarz, CEO of HAVAG

Following the official program and a group photo, attendees will have the opportunity to take a short ride aboard the 30-meter TINA tram, traveling via Berliner Brücke and the Market Square before returning to the depot.

The regulatory approval of this first short tram (fleet number 801) marks a key milestone for Halle's new TINA generation of trams. The successful certification applies to all 38 additional vehicles in this series, accelerating the rollout of the entire 56-tram fleet (including both long and short models). In the coming months, more TINA trams will enter passenger service, gradually replacing older stock across the network.
