Custody Dispute Ends in Double Tragedy After Years of Harassment and Obsession
A long-running custody dispute ended in tragedy after two women linked to Cédric Prizzon were found dead in Aveyron. The 45-year-old man, known for years of public accusations and legal battles, disappeared on March 20, 2026, before being arrested in Portugal four days later. His ex-wife and his new partner were both discovered deceased in Vailhourles, a small village of over 600 residents. Cédric Prizzon and Audrey Cavalié had a history of conflict. Six years ago, both were convicted of physically assaulting each other. Their turbulent relationship continued even after their divorce, with shared custody of their son until spring 2021.
That year, Prizzon fled to Spain with their child for nearly two months. Upon returning to France, he lost all parental rights. His behaviour escalated further as he posted online videos stalking Cavalié, made threats, and organised protests outside the local town hall. The mayor of Vailhourles later described him as obsessive and relentless. Prizzon's accusations extended beyond his ex-wife. He repeatedly claimed violence and judicial conspiracies, targeting Cavalié and others. His public campaigns, including social media posts and protests, led to legal consequences—condemnations for harassment and violence. Despite this, he began a new relationship with Angela Legobien-Cadillac before the fatal incident. On March 20, 2026, Prizzon vanished from Vailhourles. Four days later, Portuguese authorities arrested him. By then, both Cavalié and Legobien-Cadillac had been found dead in the village.
The case has left a community in shock, with two lives lost and a man now facing serious charges. Legal proceedings had already restricted Prizzon's access to his son before the tragedy. The events follow years of documented disputes, public harassment, and escalating tensions.
