Dangerous braking on A656 sparks police probe after near-collisions
Mannheim (our platform)
On Friday shortly after 11 a.m., a truck driver was traveling on the A656 highway toward Mannheim when, between the Mannheim-Seckenheim exit and the Mannheim interchange, he was abruptly braked to a standstill by a female BMW driver and an unknown white passenger car. This caused the traffic behind them to come to a temporary complete halt. Several motorists were forced to slam on their brakes to avoid a collision. According to reports, the woman's BMW had earlier been cut off by the truck.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, prompting the Mannheim highway police to launch an investigation. Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the event—or who may have noticed suspicious behavior beforehand and can provide information about the white car—to contact them at +49 621 4709-0. Drivers who were endangered or suffered damage are also urged to reach out to the officers.
