Dubhub appoints Niclas Ekstedt as new Chief of Operations amid rapid growth

Dubhub, a fast-growing localisation studio, has named Niclas Ekstedt as its new Chief of Operations. Based in Stockholm, he will join the company next week. The move follows a long career in media and dubbing across Europe.

Ekstedt’s appointment comes as Dubhub expands its services in audio dubbing and YouTube management. The firm aims to help producers reach wider audiences at lower costs through advanced technology and direct-to-consumer strategies. Ekstedt’s career in localisation began over a decade ago. His first major role was as Country Manager for Dubberman, a company later absorbed by BTI Studios and then Iyuno. During his time there, he oversaw dubbing and subtitling operations in Sweden and managed key accounts across the Nordic and European markets.

More recently, he served as Director of Business Development for Northern and Western Europe at Iyuno. Over 12 years, he played a significant part in reshaping the localisation industry through mergers and consolidation.

At Dubhub, Ekstedt will work from the Stockholm office alongside Irina Divnovgortseva, the newly promoted Vice President of Sales and Acquisition. The company, which also has offices in Istanbul and Amsterdam, specialises in cost-efficient dubbing and YouTube channel management. Its technology-driven approach helps producers scale content and increase revenue.

Fredrik af Malmborg, Dubhub’s Co-founder and CEO, believes Ekstedt’s experience will challenge traditional business models. His track record in managing large-scale operations and driving industry change is expected to strengthen the company’s growth plans. Ekstedt takes up his position next week. His role will focus on scaling Dubhub’s operations and refining its localisation services. The company continues to expand its reach in the media industry with a mix of technology and direct audience engagement.
