Eesti 200 pushes bold reforms to reshape Estonia's future by 2027
Estonia’s liberal party Eesti 200 has set its sights on forming the next government after the March 2027 election. Party leader Kristina Kallas has warned against a shift toward populist and conservative leadership, urging voters to defend a liberal Estonia with decisive action. Eesti 200’s board is pushing for sweeping reforms in tax policy, labour laws, and pensions. The party argues that bold changes are needed to tackle Estonia’s aging population and rising tax pressures. A key demand is a new climate law to provide clarity for businesses and investors.
The party is actively seeking coalition partners willing to back these reforms. Kallas has stressed that liberal values must be protected through concrete policies rather than rhetoric. Meanwhile, Reform Party Chairman Kristen Michal has criticised conservative factions, accusing them of blocking necessary progress. Eesti 200 insists that Estonia’s future depends on structural overhauls. Without them, the party warns, economic stagnation and social strain will worsen.
The 2027 election will test whether Eesti 200 can assemble a coalition strong enough to push through its agenda. If successful, the party’s reforms could reshape Estonia’s economy and social policies. The outcome will determine whether liberal or conservative forces dominate the country’s next political phase.
