Ex-manager accused of stealing $304K from Willowbrook Country Club
A former office manager at Willowbrook Country Club has been accused of stealing more than $300,000 from the organisation. Laurie Voyten now faces multiple theft-related charges after an investigation uncovered years of alleged financial misconduct.
The missing funds total over $304,000, with investigators claiming the money was taken deliberately over an extended period. A forensic audit later revealed large discrepancies between cash receipts and bank deposits, peaking in 2024 with a shortfall of more than $176,000.
Surveillance footage showed Voyten arriving at the club early in the morning carrying boxes and later leaving with shredded documents. Authorities also allege she intercepted certified IRS letters meant for the club, further obscuring the financial trail. The prolonged theft has left Willowbrook Country Club in serious financial difficulty. Members now worry they may eventually have to cover the missing money themselves.
Voyten’s alleged actions have caused lasting damage to the club’s finances. The case remains under investigation as authorities work to recover the stolen funds and determine the full extent of the losses.
