Fabian Schläpfer to lead Swiss21.org as new Managing Director in 2026
Swiss21.org has named Fabian Schläpfer as its new Managing Director, starting 1 January 2026. He takes over from Walter Regli, who has led the organisation since its launch in 2017. The change marks a new phase for the digital solutions provider serving Swiss SMEs. Fabian Schläpfer arrives from Abacus Research, where he focused on fiduciary services for small and medium-sized businesses. His background gives him deep insight into the needs of SMEs, a key market for Swiss21.org.
Walter Regli, who helped build Swiss21 from its founding, will step down to pursue other business ventures. His departure follows years of guiding the organisation within the Abacus ecosystem. Christian Huber, Co-CEO of Abacus Research AG and Chairman of Swiss21.org, has backed Schläpfer’s appointment. He highlighted the new leader’s experience as a strong fit for the role.
The leadership transition will take effect at the start of 2026. Schläpfer’s experience with SMEs and digital services positions him to guide Swiss21.org’s next steps. Regli’s exit opens the door for his own entrepreneurial projects.
