At the same time, new registrations also climbed significantly, reflecting a dynamic but challenging environment for small businesses. Despite the high shutdown rate, trade remained the most popular sector for new registrations.
Overall, 10,000 new individual entrepreneurs were registered in 2025—nearly 1.5 times the figure from 2024. The total number of active individual entrepreneurs in the region now stands at around 48,600. In 2024, the region recorded 7,648 business liquidations, a lower figure compared to the latest data. The 2025 numbers highlight both the challenges faced by existing businesses and the continued interest in entrepreneurship.
The latest figures show a mixed picture for Omsk Region’s business landscape. While closures rose to 8,133, new registrations also surged, keeping the total number of active entrepreneurs steady. Retail, particularly online trade, saw the most volatility, with both high closure rates and strong interest from new entrants.
