Five Men Arrested After Brutal Bar Attack and Robbery in Cologne
Wednesday, April 22, 8:10 AM
Yesterday morning, a 38-year-old man was in a bar on Kölner Straße when he became involved in an altercation with five unknown men. One of the assailants sprayed pepper spray in the victim's face. The 38-year-old then fled the café, running across Kölner Straße toward Am Wehrhahn. The men pursued him, beating and kicking him before stealing his bag and shoes.
During an immediate manhunt, officers located and arrested all five suspects, some of whom had gone into hiding. The stolen items were still in their possession. After evidence suggested drug use, blood samples were taken at the station.
The men—aged 20, 20, 22, 23, and 25—hold Algerian (two) and Moroccan (three) citizenship and have prior convictions for property and violent offenses.
