FloQast Opens Berlin Hub to Drive AI-Powered Accounting Transformation in DACH

FloQast, the Accounting Transformation Platform created by accountants for accountants to automate accounting and audit workflows with AI, has announced the opening of its new Berlin hub, marking a strategic expansion across the DACH region. The move reflects growing demand from finance teams facing increased regulatory pressure, operational complexity, and limited headcount, while seeking practical ways to adopt AI with confidence.

Germany and the wider DACH market represent a key focus area for FloQast, driven by the complex regulatory environment and the demand for high standards of accuracy and control. FloQast will use the new hub to strengthen relationships with existing customers and partners, while growing its regional presence. FloQast marked the opening by hosting a roundtable event on 18 February 2026 in Berlin-Mitte. 17 senior finance professionals gathered to discuss how the role of accounting is evolving in the region. Conversations centred on rising workloads, integration challenges, and the cautious but inevitable adoption of AI within finance functions.

Participants described organisations scaling in size and complexity without equivalent growth in accounting teams and the pressures this dynamic is creating. Shared service models and system integrations were also seen to add coordination demands, often increasing friction rather than reducing it.

AI was widely acknowledged as part of the solution, particularly for structured, repeatable tasks. At the same time, finance leaders expressed clear expectations around accountability, transparency, and auditability, especially when AI is applied to analysis or financial evaluation.

"The conversations we're seeing across the region are grounded in reality," said John Phillips, UK General Manager at FloQast. "Finance teams are under pressure to do more with less, while maintaining full accountability for the numbers. Opening our Berlin hub is about being closer to those teams, building trust in the market, and supporting them with solutions that reflect how accounting actually works; structured, auditable, and grounded in financial logic."

Insights from the roundtable also highlighted a shift in how finance teams view AI. Rather than replacing roles, AI is increasingly seen as supporting them - handling preparation, structuring data, and surfacing insights, while responsibility remains with qualified professionals. This shift is prompting a broader evolution in the role of accounting, with greater emphasis on oversight, interpretation, and decision-making.

The opening of the Berlin hub signals FloQast's continued investment in supporting finance teams through this transition, combining technology with local expertise to help organisations adopt AI in a way that is practical, accountable, and aligned with the realities of the profession.
