Ford Transit targeted in acid and tyre-slashing attack in Breuberg

A white Ford Transit was attacked overnight in Breuberg, with acid poured over its hood and windshield. The vehicle's tyres were also slashed in what police are treating as a deliberate act of vandalism. Authorities have now opened an investigation into the incident, which took place early on Wednesday, March 18. The attack happened on Arnheiter Straße, where the van was parked. Unknown offenders targeted the vehicle, damaging both its bodywork and tyres. Two of the Ford Transit's tyres were slashed, while corrosive liquid was spread across the front of the vehicle.

Due to possible political motivations, the case has been handed over to the State Protection Division of the South Hesse Police Headquarters. This unit specialises in crimes with suspected extremist or ideological backgrounds. Despite the severity of the attack, no similar incidents have been reported in the Odenwaldkreis or surrounding Breuberg over the past year. Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen suspicious behaviour in the area. Anyone with information is asked to contact officers immediately on +49 6151 969-0.

The investigation into the criminal damage remains ongoing. Authorities are examining potential leads, including whether the attack was politically motivated. So far, no further incidents of this nature have been recorded in the region.
