Four critically injured in Bad Essen's deadly head-on crash on B65
A serious head-on collision took place on Mindener Straße (B65) in Bad Essen on Monday. The crash left four people with severe injuries and forced the closure of a major road for hours. Authorities are now examining what caused the accident. The incident happened when a BMW travelling from Bad Essen toward Preußisch Oldendorf crossed into oncoming traffic. It struck a Ford head-on, with both vehicles carrying two occupants each. Emergency crews quickly arrived at the scene and transported all four injured individuals to nearby hospitals.
The B65 remained shut for around five hours while investigators worked. A specialist team from Osnabrück Police’s Central Traffic Unit carried out accident reconstruction to determine the exact sequence of events. The road finally reopened once their work was completed.
