Future Day Lets 100 Students Test Real Police Work in Germany
Around 100 students explored careers in law enforcement during Future Day at the Lower Saxony Police Academy. The event took place at three locations—Nienburg, Oldenburg, and Hann. Münden—offering young people a hands-on look at police work. The academy opened its doors to showcase the variety of roles within the force. Instructors led practical exercises, letting students try out tasks like securing evidence, sitting in patrol cars, and practising self-defence. Participants were encouraged to join in and ask questions throughout the day.
Teamwork, physical fitness, and quick decision-making were emphasised as key skills for the job. The program aimed to give students a real sense of what a career in policing involves. By the end of the visit, many left with new impressions and a better understanding of their potential future paths.
The event provided direct experience of police training and daily responsibilities. Students tested their abilities in realistic scenarios while learning about different career options. For some, the day helped clarify their next steps after school.
